Beer Review: Lomza Pelne

Lomza Pelne

Lomza Pelne is another Polish Beer. Lomza has been around for a while and have a brewery established in Lomza, Poland. They aren’t the most popular beer, here or Poland, but they have a pretty good market share. In 2007 they were acquired by the Danish company Royal Unibrew.
The appearence is a bit darker than most Polish beers but not by much, you can’t really tell in the photo.
The taste and smell are both a bit grainy, not the best. It has hints of bitter hoppiness but more of a malt taste. The beer is 6.0% alc/vol and you can taste it, this is why Lomza is not my favorite beer.

The head is thick at first but dissipates quickly. As you can see, it’s a mix of small and large bubbles. There isn’t that much carbonation so it goes down easy. Like I mentioned earlier, the only problem with this beer is the taste; it’s not that good. It does sit well allowing you to drink a few but why drink a sub-par beer?
All in all, I give this beer a 6/10. It’s not the greatest beer and as far as Polish beers go, there are much better ones. I would advise you take a look at some other Polish beer posts for a better beer suggestion but if you must drink this don’t expect the best. Lomza also makes other beers, some of which are better tasting and worth checking out.
Regards!
Na zdrowie!
