Bell’s Brewery: Two Hearted Ale

Bell's Brewery Two Hearted Ale

This  beer was exceptionally good. It is my second post of Bell’s Brewery beer. Another great Midwest beer! If you are interested in a short history about the brewery you can refer to the Bell’s Pale Ale post. As you can see, the beer poured a nice clear golden color with a thick head. The smell was a mixture or citrus and pine, I smelt more citrus than pine; I assume this is the hops. The taste was floral, like how it smells, the hops must be citrusy. It is 7% alc/vol but you don’t taste any alcohol. Tastes great!

As you can see and as I mentioned earlier there is a thick, white head. It died down but a thin coat remains the entire time you drink it. You can see an about even mixture of small and large bubbles. It left great residue, or lacing, around the glass when I was finished; I regret not taking a picture of it.

All in all I give this beer an 8/10! It was a really good, refreshing beer. I got it in Indiana but you can buy it anywhere in Chicago as they are allowed to sell it again in Illinois. They have a list of states that import this beer on their website. I would definitely suggest picking this up or any of the other Bell’s beers, they are all good!

Regards!

Bell’s Brewery: Pale Ale

Bells Pale Ale

Bell’s Pale Ale is an American Beer. Bell’s Brewery is located in Kalamazoo, Michigan and has been brewing good beer since 1983. Larry Bell, the owner, started Bell’s as a brewing supply store and it grew into a brewing operation. I have never heard of it before but apparently it is a very popular brand with distribution in 13 states. This is the first Bell’s Brewery beer review.

The appearance, as you can see, is a dark amber that you can barely see through. It’s not so much cloudy as it is thick looking, if you can understand that. I’m a fan of pale ales and this one is pretty good.

The taste and smell are of grainy wheat, maybe even a bit citrusy. It is best very cold and when it is, it is very refreshing. It sits light in your stomach so it’s good for drinking a few. Bell’s Pale Ale is 5% alc/vol so the alcohol taste isn’t over bearing.

I apologize for the poor quality of the image, it was taken with my phone camera.

As you can see, the head is very foamy and thick. It stays that way until you start drinking it. To me, this looks extremely refreshing, I may have to go get some after this post!

All in all, I give Bell’s Pale Ale a 7/10! It has grown to be one of my favorite pale ales. You can find it in pretty much every liquor store around Chicago, I think I found a six pack at the local supermarket. I suggest you pick it up if you like a good craft brew that is becoming mainstream.
