A friend stopped by with some 40oz’s, Mickey’s to be exact!

Mickey’s
Fine Malt Liquor

They’re not kidding. I have to say that this is by far my favorite malt liquor (and there’s plenty of them). An American made beer, Mickey’s Malt Liquor is owned by Miller Brewing Company. Here in Chicago it is quite popular because it is cheap and available in pretty much any liquor store. They also have 24oz cans and 12oz bottles known as “grenades.” These can be amusing, they have little picture puzzles underneath their caps. I will post later about these fun puzzles. This is the first of many malt liquor beer reviews.

The appearance is a light gold color that fizzes as you pour it into a glass. Best served very cold!

Now Mickey’s doesn’t taste like a normal malt liquor; with 5.6% alc/vol, it’s surprisingly smooth and easy to drink. The taste isn’t the greatest (it’s a bit grainy, smells the same) but when it comes to malt liquor it’s definitely my favorite.

As you can see, the head is quite fizzy and the bubbles are rather large. The bubbles are a faint golden color, same color as the beer itself, and disappear in about a couple of minutes after you pour it into a glass.

All in all, I would definitely say pick one of these up. As far as malt liquor goes, I give Mickey’s a 10/10! If you don’t like 40oz bottles there’s always six packs and 24oz cans. It’s cheap and I guarantee you can find at your local liquor store.

Regards!
